Royal Norwegian Yacht Club (KNS)

The Driving Force of Norwegian Sailing

Henri-Lloyd has entered a strategic partnership with The Royal Norwegian Yacht Club -- Kongelig Norsk Seilforening (KNS) - Norway’s premier sailing association.

Founded in 1883, KNS has been the driving force of Norwegian sailing for over a century. The organisation has played a significant role in developing competitive sailing and building a strong maritime culture, while strengthening Norway’s presence in the international sailing community. The club’s members include Olympic athletes, offshore racers, and passionate sailing enthusiasts who share a love for the sport.

Henri-Lloyd has a vested interest in growing the sport in Norway too. Henri-Lloyd is part of Norwegian-owned investment group, Monte Rosa Sport (MRS) and its Executive Chairman and CEO, Knut Frostad, is Norwegian nationality and a long-time member of KNS himself.

Through this partnership, KNS members will gain access to Henri-Lloyd’s cutting-edge sailing apparel. Henri-Lloyd will work alongside KNS in driving awareness and participation of sailing in Norway by supporting regattas, hosting events, and bringing some of the brand’s international ambassadors to Norway to inspire the next generation of sailors.

Kicking Off at Henri-Lloyd Færderseilasen

The first major milestone of this partnership is that Henri-Lloyd will be the title sponsor of Færderseilasen, Norway's largest regatta, taking place on June 13-15, 2025. The event, which first took place in 1947, is now one of the world's largest overnight regattas attracting up to 550 entries.

"It is incredibly exciting to be able to collaborate with Henri-Lloyd, especially now the brand is in Norwegian hands. At the same time, it is fantastic to be able to work closely with Knut Frostad, one of Norway's most profiled sailors of all time. His experience from international regattas, broad networks and commitment not only to top level, but also to coastal and touring sailing, give KNS some fantastic opportunities going forward."
