Our strategic partnership with The Royal Norweigian Yacht Club - Kongelig Norsk Seilforening (KNS) - Norway’s premier sailing association, is a commitment to growing the sport of sailing in Norway and beyond.

Through this collaboration, KNS members will gain access to Henri-Lloyd’s cutting-edge sailing apparel, but more importantly, Henri-Lloyd will contribute to the development of the sport by supporting regattas, hosting events and bringing some of the brand’s international ambassadors to Norway to inspire the next generation of sailors, as well as making Henri-Lloyd high-performance sailing apparel more accessible to KNS members.

The partnership is also set to create new opportunities for KNS members to engage with the sport in fresh and exciting ways.

Founded in 1883, KNS has been at the heart of Norwegian sailing for over a century. As the country’s largest and most prestigious sailing association, it has played a significant role in developing competitive sailing and fostering a strong maritime culture.

The club’s members include Olympic athletes, offshore racers, and passionate sailing enthusiasts who share a love for the sport.

With a packed calendar of regattas, training programs, and social events, KNS continues to be a driving force in Norwegian sailing.

A Shared Passion for Sailing

Henri-Lloyd’s executive chairman, Knut Frostad, has been a lifelong sailor and competitor, with four Volvo Ocean Race campaigns and a history of leadership in the sailing and marine industry. He is also a lifelong member of KNS. He sees this partnership as a natural extension of Henri-Lloyd’s mission to equip sailors with the best possible gear while helping to grow the sport in Norway.  

With Henri-Lloyd’s heritage in technical innovation and Frostad’s deep knowledge of competitive sailing, the partnership aims to ensure that KNS members have access to top-tier sailing apparel and experiences. 

Frostad is leading Henri-Lloyd back to its roots as a leader in sailing gear. In its early years, the brand pioneered the standards for offshore sailing technology, leading the way with innovations like seam-sealed waterproof garments and durable, high-performance materials, waterproof zips and Velcro.  

The goal now is to push those boundaries even further and reinforce Henri-Lloyd’s position as the go-to brand for serious sailors.

For KNS, this agreement marks a new direction in their sponsorship strategy, with the support of Henri-Lloyd. The club is focused on working with brands that align with its values and long-term vision for Norwegian sailing. Secretary General Bård Spilling sees this partnership as a perfect match - Henri-Lloyd’s commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation aligns with KNS’s mission to promote excellence in the sport. 

Spilling is keen for the opportunities this collaboration will bring, from enhancing member benefits to strengthening Norway’s presence in the international sailing community. Kicking Off at Henri-Lloyd Færderseilasen

The first major milestone of this partnership will be the Henri-Lloyd Færderseilasen, one of Norway’s most iconic sailing events. As title sponsor, Henri-Lloyd will play a key role in the event, ensuring an unforgettable experience for sailors and spectators alike.
